This four-week hand building pottery course introduces the fundamental techniques used to create ceramic pieces without a pottery wheel. The course guides participants through:
Introduction to clay, tools, and studio safety
Basic hand building techniques (pinch, slab, and simple forms)
Joining and assembling small clay components
Creating texture and nature-inspired surface designs
Drying processes and handling greenware safely
Basic finishing and preparation for firing
Introduction to glazing and final presentation

Week 2: Develop slab and pinch building techniques to construct individual ceramic elements designed for a hanging mobile structure.
Week 3: Refine shapes and assemble components, adding texture and decorative detail inspired by natural forms such as leaves and seed pods.
Week 4: Complete the wind charm mobile through finishing, drying preparation, and introductory glazing techniques ready for firing and display.
